Mission is well on the way of realizing its vision with operations across Asia,
India, Australia, Europe, and North America. Mission NewEnergy operates in two
pivotal areas: plantation and refining.
Mission has the refining capacity to deliver over 105 million gallons of
biodiesel (2.6 million barrels), every year, and holds numerous certifications for biofuel
quality and sustainability, including the BPAC–AGQM technical standard and ISO
9001:2008. Mission refineries are located at Kuantan Port, Malaysia. A dedicated
jetty links the facilities by pipeline to the berth and global shipping lanes to
provide excellent global logistics.
Mission NewEnergy is one of the world’s largest cultivators of Jatropha
Curcas, a unique, high-oil-content biodiesel feedstock that not only grows
in marginal lands, but is also inedible, so it does not compete with the world’s
food supply, making Jatropha an Advance Biofuel.
Cultivating over 194,000 acres of Jatropha Curcas under contract farming
agreements, Mission NewEnergy operates in over 15,000 villages across five
states in India. These operations are providing sustained employment for over
140,000 previously impoverished farmers. Using mobile GPS devices in conjunction
with its ERP system, Mission NewEnergy maps acreage and monitors agronomy
activities with granular precision, allowing the company to optimize yield.
There are many companies working sustainable biofuels, those that are affordable
and derived from renewable sustainable origins, not from food crops. Most are
focused on research and development of refinery technologies. Mission believes
that the key to long-term cost-effective production of biofuels is the
generation of non-food-based raw materials.
